Heading north

I am leaving Joshua Tree today and it's like leaving home.  I have met so many good people here, and I've had a blast climbing and hanging out for the past few weeks.  It's difficult to imagine that things could get any better, but I am pretty stoked for my drive and for my summer in Alaska.  I'm thinking I probably soaked up enough sun here in the desert to last me for the next month or so of coldish weather up north.

  1. Well man its good to see that everything is falling into place for you. I really admire the courage to go against the grain and follow your heart. I have enjoyed reading your blog as well but forgot about it till you said something on fb. I find myself periodically lusting for the freedom from the modern world, and all its constraints and pressures. In general I think I choose the right path for my "life's work" but that does not mean it's without complications, pressure, deadlines, budgets etc. I can certainly understand the desire to try and simplify ones life and its nice to not be such a slave to possessions. I'm excited to read about your experiences, and let me know in the course of your travels if you, in the words of Yvon, "..... answer questions that in the beginning you didn't even think to ask". Try and let us know how you get on and periodically drop back into society to say hello. I wish you all the best.
